We adapt the service to your requirements and make it fast, easy and transparent.

ONE. Briefing
You fill in an online brief where we ask you for basic information about the room you’re looking to design. We’ll ask you about your budget and your vision. At this stage, please start gathering any images of the space you’re looking to transform, dimensions (length of each wall, ceiling height and window/door locations) and any inspirational images. After receiving all this information, we contact you to discuss your project in more detail and select the right Design Package for you to purchase.

TWO. Concept Development
We will contact you to discuss your requirements in a little more detail. At this stage, you will be given the option to buy the design package that best suits your needs. Once purchased, things will get started with an introductory video or phone call with your personal Interior Designer. Together, you’ll discuss your brief in detail and receive access to your project’s dashboard where you will be able to upload the photos/videos and dimensions of your space. From there, we move towards developing more ideas and inspirations via a convenient online chat system integrated into our platform.

THREE. Design collaboration
Once you’re happy with the style and concept proposed, you work together with your Interior Designer to develop your idea even further by start sourcing the furniture options. We help you visualise the final space it by producing professional mood boards, furniture layouts, and an interactive hand-picked shopping list so that you can purchase the final design in just one click. If you have any further questions, your designer will happily answer them via the chat service over the following two weeks.

FOUR. Discounted shopping
If you’re interested in making things even more convenient for you, you can opt-in our complimentary ordering service. You only have to choose items from the curated shopping list, and we place all the orders on your behalf, help co-ordinate deliveries and provide you with a match-guarantee retailer pricing and discounts.

We are in partnership with a range of national and international suppliers so we can offer our design consultancy even if your project is not in the UK. Of course, depending of location, our suppliers might be more limited and you might have to pay for additional delivery charges for international shipping.

We usually leave kitchen design projects to specialised Kitchen Design companies. Nonetheless, we are used to closely collaborating with them and our clients, providing expert consultancy and advise on final the kitchen design feel, layouts and finishes, whenever it’s required. Design Packages

Our ‘Essential’ design package is perfect when you already have the main furniture items in a room and are looking for a few smaller or decorative pieces to add the finishing touches. With this package, we source for you up to six different items (such as rugs, cushions, table lamp, bedside tables and ceiling lamp). We’ll provide you with a minimum of three curated options for each of the items for you to select your favourites and add to your final shopping list. Please note that we’re not able to include here any larger furniture items in this package as they would often require drawing a layout to scale to ensure that it all fits – in which case you’ll be better of with the ‘Absolute Makeover’ package.

The ‘Standard’ design package allows for a blank-canvas and complete room transformation. We’ll find you at least five options for all items in your list required. Finally, we’ll help you visualise the final design by providing you with mood boards, floorplans and 2D visuals.

We recommend our ‘Extra’ design package when designing larger areas or open-plan spaces. We will include zoning exercises and produce a cohesive design that is both; practical and stylish. We’ll create mood boards, floorplans and 2D visuals to get a whole scheme of the final design proposed.

ESSENTIAL

Ideal when adding the final touches, accessories or styling that will bring your room to life.

  • 1 week duration. Up to 1 weeks of design and communication time.
  • Initial 20 minute video or phone call, plus frequent online communication over the project’s duration.
  • Curated product recommendations (a max of 6 key items, with at least 3 options for each).

STANDARD

The best option when designing a single room from scratch.

  • Dedicated interior designer.
  • 2 weeks duration. Up to 2 weeks of design and communication time.
  • Initial 30 minute video or phone call, plus frequent online communication over the project’s duration.
  • Curated product recommendations (all your key items, with at least 3 options for each).
  • Initial Design Concept
  • 1x Mood board with your final product recommendations.
  • 1x Annotated floor plan with furniture layout
  • 1x 2D Visualisation of the final selected scheme.

EXTRA

The preferred one when it comes to larger spaces, open plan rooms or more complex designs.

  • Dedicated interior designer.
  • 3 weeks duration. Up to 3 weeks of design and communication time.
  • Initial 45 minute video or phone call, plus frequent online communication over the project’s duration.
  • Curated product recommendations (all your key items, with at least 3 options for each).
  • Initial Design Concept
  • 1x Mood board with your final product recommendations.
  • 1x Annotated floor plan with furniture layout
  • 2x 2D Visualisation of the final selected scheme.
  • Relevant tips and suggestions for your project.

After filling in the initial briefing and depending on the package you have chosen, we’ll have 2 or 3 weeks of design development. Once the final design is approved, you have a further up to two weeks to ask your designer any questions. A back-to-back design project will usually take anywhere between 5-15 working days.

If you choose to opt-in on our complimentary ordering service, please note that delivery times are separate from the design process times. Each furnishing supplier has its delivery timeline. Depending on the pieces and their stock availability; it could take any time between 1-5 weeks to get something delivered to your door from the moment you have purchased it from us. Our designers will know what your project’s timelines are and will do their best to specify only those products that are certain to be delivered in time to you.

Each package we offer caters for a different design need, and they start from £399.00 per room. There are no hidden costs; you pay for a one-time, flat-fee per room.

When working out your total budget, you should consider all the key items (furnishing and accessories) that you would like to include in your final design and have selected in your brief. It’s crucial to communicate the overall budget to your designer as this will allow them to source ideal items that stick to your price point from the start.

Regardless of the online design package you choose, you’ll directly benefit from our trade discounts. Moreover, when you decide to purchase the look through our complimentary ordering service, you unlock the option to buying from our trade-only partnerships could mean saving back your initial design fee if not more!

Of course! This is a collaborative effort, and the aim is to get as close to your ideal interior design vision as possible. You can update and discuss your requirements and preferences with you Interior Designer throughout the concept development process up to the moment that your concept and floor plan layouts have been agreed. If you make further changes past this would incur extra design time and as such we will charge you a little extra.

Nothing to worry about. We can hit pause on your project at any time and give you more time to get things ready at your end. Bottom line, you have 2-3 weeks of project design time, depending of what package you have selected. We’re happy to move days around to accommodate the times that best suit you.

If you would like more help time than the assigned for the design package, we can always agree to charge you separately for any extra time that you require.

A mood board is a type of visual presentation, composition or collage consisting of images, text, and/or samples of objects. It will be used to convey the main concept, feeling or inspirational idea you would like to have. At SPEAKING OF INTERIORS, our digital mood boards will set the direction of the design.

This digital mood board presents 1) An inspirational image that sets the style we will be using when designing the room, 2) Four texture images that provide the feeling and colour palette we will be using in the space, and finally, 3) A collage of the selected furnishing and paint colours proposed to decorate the room.

Even though we primarily operate online, we understand that some customers prefer a face-to-face experience and we’re more than happy to comply.

At the moment, we’re only able to offer the home visit service in the Greater London area. Please note that this cost would not include the room design packages, which we will be charged on top of the home visit fee.

The duration of the visit would depend on the size of the project. It will usually involve a designer taking a full brief in person in the comfort of your own home, as well as photographing and measuring the space to develop the design further. Home visits start from £300.

Yes, we do, as an add-on service. We understand how 3D visualisations and renders are a very useful tool in Interior Design. Although you won’t see this type of service included in our set packages, we’ll happily include 3D visualisations in your project’s deliverables for an extra cost. We love designing bathrooms (yes, really!). However, they do require considerably more time and effort to design than other rooms in the house, for which we would charge a fee of £799 for the overall design development.

When designing bathrooms, you would get the following:

  • Dedicated interior designer.
  • 2 to 3 weeks duration. Up to 3 weeks of design and communication time.
  • Initial 30 minute video or phone call, plus frequent online communication over the project’s duration.
  • Curated product/finishes recommendations (all your key items, with at least 3 options for each).
  • Initial Design Concept.
  • 1x Mood board with your final product recommendations.
  • 1x CAD drawing set: annotated floor plan with the final layout, plus elevations when required. Please note that all bathroom layout options we present to you SHOULD AND MUST be checked with your plumber/builder to make sure they are viable and there’re no restrictions in place (pipes, etc).
  • Relevant tips and suggestions for your project.
  • Complementary ordering service.
  • Post-design support for two weeks.

Complementary Ordering Service

It’s an easy, money-saving, non-obligation and opt-in service that comes with a price match guarantee. Instead of you having to go to each supplier to purchase your items, we’ll do it for you. You can sit down and relax. We’ll place all furnishing orders and arrange final deliveries of all your selected items from the final curated list of design recommendations.

We’ve already done the hard work of finding the best prices for you and put them all in one place for you – your curated shopping list. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to buy them all. You can pick and choose individual items or none at all.

Once you decide which ones you want to purchase, add them to your basket and follow the straightforward online checkout process to get all your items in one click rather than having to visit each separate store. Our team will then place the orders for you with each different retailer and track the deliveries on your behalf. Your project dashboard will provide you with all order status and direct chat communication.

Please note that we currently only this is a service only available to users of the United Kingdom & all deliveries will come directly from retailers. All shipping & delivery costs from retailers will be passed on to you, but we charge no handling fees.

We will match our prices to those of our retailer partners. So, ultimately, you will pay the same amount to us as if you buy it directly from them.
